CA Residents — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Updated August 26, 2026
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the right to direct SnowballGuide not to sell or share your personal information with third parties.
What “Sale” and “Sharing” Mean Here
SnowballGuide is an informational publisher and referral service. When you submit a form on this site, the information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and ZIP code, is transmitted to third-party marketing partners, advertisers, aggregators, and lead buyers who may contact you about a variety of offers, products, and services. We may receive compensation for those referrals. We also allow advertising and analytics vendors to collect online identifiers and browsing activity through cookies and pixels for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Under California law, those activities may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even though we do not sell information in the everyday sense of the word. We want you to be able to opt out of it, and this page explains how.
How to Opt Out
By email (fastest)
Send a request to [SnowballGuide CCPA email] with the subject line “Do Not Sell My Personal Information.” Please include:
- your full name;
- the email address and phone number you submitted on this site;
- your mailing address and ZIP code;
- a statement that you are a California resident.
We use this information solely to verify your identity and locate your record. We will confirm receipt and process your request within the timeframe required by law, generally 15 business days for opt-out requests.
By mail
Send a written request, including the same details listed above, to the mailing address in the Contact section below.
By phone
Call [SnowballGuide phone] and state that you are submitting a California opt-out request.
Self-Service Opt-Out Form
Placeholder: a self-service “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” web form and opt-out link will be published here once it is available. In the meantime, please use the email, mail, or phone methods above, which we honor in full and which satisfy your CCPA opt-out request.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. We may require written permission signed by you and may take reasonable steps to verify the agent’s authority and your identity.
Opt-Out Preference Signals
Where technically feasible, we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information associated with that browser.
Important Notes
- Opting out is free, and we will not deny you access to this site, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised this right.
- An opt-out applies going forward. Information already transmitted to a third-party partner must be addressed with that party directly, and we can provide the partner’s contact details on request.
- Opting out of the sale or sharing of your information is separate from unsubscribing from marketing emails or replying STOP to text messages. You may wish to do all three.
- We may still retain and use your information for permitted business purposes, such as security, fraud prevention, recordkeeping, and legal compliance.
Your Other California Rights
You also have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request correction or deletion, and to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. See our Privacy Policy and our California Privacy Rights page for details.
